About Us!

Gulfwood Swim Team, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a summer swim program that is a member of the Greater Knoxville Area Inter-club Swim Association (GKAISA). GKAISA is made up of numerous Knoxville and surrounding area swim teams. The swim season runs the end of May through the end of July. Team members, under the age of 18, can compete in each of the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. The Gulfwood pool is a Z-shaped 25 meter pool with areas for diving, swimming and a wading pool.

We pride ourselves in our strive for excellence with emphasis on having fun! The Gulfwood community is one big family and we are very proud of that. Summer swimming is a sport where you can meet a lot of new people as well as learn a few things along the way. It is about FUN and our coaches and swimmers know exactly how to do that! Our team provides many socials including pancake breakfasts, poolside movies, 4th of July party and more! We are a team from experienced swimmers to novice swimmers. Any swimmers 4-18 are encouraged to come swim with us - for younger swimmer we ask that they are not afraid of the water and can swim a promising lap down the pool! Our coaches have over 40 years of swimming combined and include NCAA Division 1 swimmers as well as teachers. Each coach knows how to work with the swimmers; they understand that this is a time to learn, but to make sure the environment is always fun. They each have experience working with kids of all ages, shapes and sizes and together they create a cohesive team to ensure your swimmer(s) are getting the most they can out of our team.
