Meet the Coaches
Joy Van Der Noord
Co-Head Coach
Joy is thrilled to start her 5th season with the Gulfwood Gators this year as a Co-Head Coach with Coach Kate! Joy’s love for competitive swimming began when she was a little girl; swimming for summer leagues and club teams for most of her childhood! She has over 15 years of coaching experience and has loved every second of it! She was head coach of two different summer league teams in Georgia and coached club swimming for ABSC at the University of Georgia and Dynamo Swim Club in the Atlanta area. Joy is the Non-Competitive Programs Director at Tennessee Aquatics and has coached at TNAQ for the past five years. Joy has her Associates degree in Elementary Education and her Bachelors from the University of Georgia in Recreation Business. Joy and her husband keep busy raising their three children. Fun fact: Joy is a big Chick-fil-a fan and even had a Chick-fil-a sauce fountain at her wedding!
